STAT 330 - Statistical Inference Units: 3 Random variables, sampling distributions (binomial, Poisson, normal, exponential), conditional probability. Estimation, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing. Computer-aided computations. Topics include: t-tests, correlation, regression; proportions, chi-squared; ANOVA.
Prerequisites: Satisfactory score of 63 or higher on Mathematics Placement Exam or one of: MATH 110, MATH 115, MATH 120, MATH 130. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- apply statistical methodologies, including descriptive statistics and inferential techniques
- use of appropriate statistical packages for data analysis and obtaining data
- interpret the results of statistical analyses appropriately
- communicate statistical concepts and the results of data analyses to non-statisticians
