COMM 495 - Pioneer Media Production Units: 3 Students spend at least one semester producing journalism for Pioneer Media, operating under the direction of a faculty advisor and a student 0editor-in-chief.
Strongly Recommended Preparation: COMM 333 and COMM 435. Prerequisites: COMM 328 and COMM 335. Repeatability: May be repeated once for credit, for a maximum of 6 units. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Create, pitch, and publish journalism on a regular basis in Pioneer Media online and print publications.
- Create publishable journalism using visual and other multimedia elements.
- Formulate and conduct skilled interviews as a major element of news research.
- Evaluate and critique story pitches and completed multimedia stories.
