BAN 630 - Optimization Methods for Analytics


Units: 3
Determining the best solution among various choices, suggesting decision options, and illustrating the implications of each option. Topics include: optimization methods, queuing models, simulation, and application- based software. Not for MATH credit.

Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Apply key concepts and methodologies of optimization.
  2. Develop extensive skills in formulating and analyzing optimization models for solving business problems.
  3. Apply various tools/software to solve optimization models.
  4. Interpret results and develop recommendations that support business decision making.
