DANC 216 - Dance Partnering II Units: 1 ; Breadth Area: GE-E Partner dancing for those with some experience. Level evaluated at first meeting. Techniques drawing from Contact Improvisation, Ballroom Dance, Social Dance, Athletics, and Martial Arts. Effective communication skills between dance partners. Includes study and practice of choreographed partnering movement.
Repeatability: May be repeated once for credit for a maximum of 2 units. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Breadth Area(s) Satisfied: GE-E -Lifelong Learning and Self-Development Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - utilize intermediate level dance partnering technique;
- adapt movement specifically for their own body, abilities/disabilities and technique level;
- communicate and collaborate in diverse environments and in multiple dance modalities;
- perform original choreographed works.
