COMM 224 - Argumentation and Advocacy Units: 4 Students identify, analyze, and apply theories of argumentation to controversies in the personal, professional, and public spheres, emphasizing traditional and critical/cultural approaches to evidence and reasoning.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Evaluate and refute oppositional arguments;
- Utilize examples from research on current events or topics during dialectical exchanges;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the role argumentation plays in contemporary forms of advocacy.
