OTL 681 - Creating Digital Media for Online Instruction


Units: 3
Making multimedia materials available in the online classroom with texts, images, sounds, videos, and animations. Focus on needs of students with accessibility challenges.

Prerequisites: All of: OTL 601, OTL 602, OTL 603, OTL 604.
Co-requisites: OTL 606.
Possible Instructional Methods: Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Identify the different digital media types and relate the Section 508 accessibility guidelines to each media type.
  2. Practice using and compare some of the most popular tools for creating digital media.
  3. Integrate guidelines based on research and cognitive learning theory to instructional media development.
  4. Describe and implement the development process and consider how to get content created.
