OTL 603 - Technology Tools for Online Instruction

Units: 3
Design and construct online environments for teaching and learning. Attention to platform, browser, system differences, and limitations and to synchronous, asynchronous, and web-based delivery systems. Differences among online delivery providers and emphasis on maximum accessibility.

Co-requisites: OTL 601.

Grading: A-F grading only.

Evaluate popular web tools and create original work using the tools of your choice.
Explain the requirements and rationale for making electronic information accessible to people with disabilities.
Evaluate web pages for accessibility to adaptive technologies.
Evaluate course management systems and select a system to use for your course.
Determine the technologies to be used in your online course and demonstrate some uses of those technologies.
Analyze course content in terms of online delivery and presentation techniques.
Design and develop a unit of instruction in a working course management system.
Evaluate the work of your peers using both objective project requirements and qualitative feedback.
Develop strategies for troubleshooting technology problems.
