OTL 602 - Instructional Methods for Online Learning Units: 3 Teaching models and their relationship to curriculum development, student learning, assessment, and learning psychology. Special attention to the application of models of teaching to online instruction, differentiated learning, various teaching and learning situations, and accessibility issues.
Prerequisites: M.S. Education, Online Teaching and Learning majors only. Co-requisites: OTL 601. Possible Instructional Methods: Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Describe ways to vary instruction online to meet the needs of a varied group of learners.
- Write a clear and observable student learning outcome, identify its level on Bloom’s Taxonomy and its domain of knowledge.
- dentify optimal roles for students and instructor in your online course.
- Describe ways of building community in your online course.
- Identify optimal distribution of time for various types of interactions in your online course.
- Describe ways to encourage student integrity in your online coursework.
- Design instruction for one learning objective for your particular learners and align it with instruction and assessment, all of which are optimized for the online environment.
