COMM 625 - Teaching Communication Units: 4 Theories of learning and motivations to learn. Development of strategies to communicate course content and to encourage learning for the diversity of students in the communication classroom.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Develop confidence, competence, identity, and integrity as a teacher.
- Demonstrate your knowledge of the essential discipline-based content necessary for teaching the assigned course. Inquire into how students learn, including your preferences as a learner and its impact on your teaching style.
- Analyze various issues of classroom diversity within undergraduate courses.
- Articulate learning outcomes and design corresponding indicators that are observable and achievable within the course.
- Complete a course curriculum: a syllabus with course outline organized into content units; entire set of lesson plans; and detailed assessment methods.
- Create meaningful and developmental lectures, dialogues, assignments, rubrics, and activities that will facilitate your students learning of the outcomes.
