MGMT 608 - Operations and Supply Chain Management Units: 3 Managing and controlling processes that produce and deliver goods and services of a company. Topics include operations and supply chain strategy, product/process design and improvement, capacity and constraint management, quality management and control, lean management, and inventory management. Formerly BUS 608.
Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Understand key concepts and issues of operations and supply chain in both services and manufacturing organizations.
- Understand the strategic role of operations management in creating and enhancing a firm’s competitive advantage in a dynamic global environment.
- Develop extensive skills in applying quantitative and qualitative methods and tools of analyzing and solving a variety of problems in operations and supply chain management.
- Analyze operations processes from various perspectives such as efficiency, quality, responsiveness, and sustainability.
- Explain the interdependence of the operations functions with the other key functional areas of a firm.
