POSC 373 - Contemporary Political Thought


Units: 3
Major Western political ideas in the 19th and 20th centuries. Emphasis upon central figures in the development of Democratic, Marxist, Socialist, and various other contemporary bodies of political theory.    

Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. familiarize students with some of the preeminent political ideas of our time including to explore some of the emerging ideas that may shape and political landscape of the 21st century.
  2. students will explore major political notions vying for influence among humanity today.
  3. Students will have the opportunity to explore several avenues of understanding including analyzing assigned readings, writing thoughtful essays, digesting lectures, participating in classroom discussions, critically assessing relevant videos and conversing with the instructor.
