MATH 403 - Mathematics for K-8 Educators II Units: 4 Transformational approach to geometry. Congruence, Similarity and Coordinate Geometry. Area, perimeter, volume, surface area. Constructive proofs of geometric properties. Measurement systems. Descriptive statistics; mean, median, mode and range. Survey design; sources of biases. Elementary discrete probability. Dependent and independent events.
Prerequisites: MMP Category II for math or satisfactory completion of GE Area B4. Credit Restrictions: Not for mathematics major or minor credit.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Use appropriate geometry and statistics tools, software, and calculators strategically.
- Attend to precision in solving and presenting work in geometry and statistics.
