KIN 410 - Musculoskeletal Injuries in Work and Sport

Mechanical principles governing force characteristics, mechanisms of injury, and healing rate of tissues in the human musculoskeletal system.

Prerequisites: KIN 303.
Co-requisites: KIN 306.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Discuss current research topics in skeletal tissue biomechanics.
  2. Discuss experimental approaches used to assess skeletal tissue mechanics.
  3. Understand the methodology and analysis of skeletal tissue strength and injury mechanisms in the research and clinical setting.
  4. Critically analyze current literature and utilize this literature to address common questions.
  5. Apply the knowledge of injury prevention and healing of skeletal tissue to current problems within the rehabilitation and fitness setting
