REC 600 - Foundations of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism Units: 3 Examine leisure theories, history, philosophy, and different segments of the hospitality, recreation, recreation therapy and tourism professions. Develop a comprehensive literature review in preparation for the applied research project.
Prerequisites: Department Consent. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Examine various aspects of the hospitality, recreation and tourism professions including history, philosophy, and industry segments.
- Investigate the theoretical foundations of leisure, hospitality, recreation and tourism.
- Develop a critical review and analysis of contemporary literature focused on a management issue/problem for hospitality, recreation, recreation therapy or tourism organizations.
