KIN 601 - Knowledge Construction in Kinesiology


Units: 4
Developing information literacy skills: Finding, critically evaluating, and interpreting scholarly methods, research, and theory. Analyzing and synthesizing information from multiple sources, proposing conclusions and further lines of inquiry.

Prerequisites: M.S. Kinesiology major.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Understand and apply fundamental concepts of evidence-based methods for knowledge construction. Identify and contrast major research methodologies.
  2. Demonstrate skill in library scholarship. Develop skills in scholarly communication.
  3. Understand basic statistical concepts. Competently interpret, evaluate and discuss scientific research and scholarly reports.
