MM 602 - Project and Story Development


Units: 3
Small development projects to develop students’ potential to succeed as members of a thesis team. Establishment of research project teams and the development of thesis proposals.

Prerequisites: MM 601.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Name and explain terminology and principles of project planning and execution.
  2. Name and explain terminology and techniques for design thinking, human centered design and rapid prototyping.
  3. Name and explain terminology and techniques used in digital storytelling.
  4. Generalize current directions in media technology, art research and theory.
  5. Develop relevant and meaningful research problems and questions.
  6. Demonstrate techniques for storytelling, ideation, design thinking, and human centered design.
  7. Conceive and create experiences and artefacts in response to research problems and questions.
  8. Create carefully crafted project proposals in response to research problems and questions.
  9. Critique works by other students.
