ART 452 - Web Design III: Design Evolution Units: 3 Advanced level web Designers and Fine Artists build dynamic webapps, research and design for emerging technologies, such as to the Web of Things and respond to forecasting challenges, theory and applications of human-computer interaction for ubiquitous computing of the future.
Prerequisites: ART 351 and ART 352. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 6 units. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - List and explain technical, conceptual and theoretical parts of Front-End Web Development and Responsive Design;
- Demonstrate understanding of methods, of user-centered design approaches such as user-centered and human centered design; user needs analysis; participatory design and usability evaluation;
- Apply UX techniques and an evidence-based approach to identify user needs and specify requirements for new interactive systems;
- Validate design decisions through quantitative data from surveys and qualitative data like interviews and usability testing of prototypes to plan, construct and evaluate paper and digital prototypes;
- Apply fundamental design patterns and philosophies that are used to organize them to front-end and mobile hybrid development targeting multiple platforms with a single codebase and implement a fully functional application.
