SOC 355 - Global Society


Units: 4 ; Breadth Area: Sustainability
Examination of the global order with an emphasis on economic and political policies; technology and labor markets; global power relations; political unrest, resistance and social movements; local/global culture; global relations of gender, race & ethnicity; economic and environmental sustainability.

Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Online Asynchronous or Online Synchronous.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Communicate ideas, perspectives, and values clearly and persuasively while listening openly to others.
  2. Act responsibly and sustainably at local, national, and global levels.
  3. Recognize and discuss supranational policies that create unsustainable economic and environmental practices and explore sustainable alternatives.
