HDEV 414 - Creative and Artistic Development in Early Childhood Units: 4 Theories and research findings related to creative and artistic development during early childhood, from birth to age five. Observation, design, and implementation of activities in visual art, music, dance, or drama.
Prerequisites: Junior, senior or post-baccalaureate standing. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Describe how theories of play, creativity, artistic development and musical development apply to early childhood;
- Interpret research on creative and artistic development of infants and young children; and
- Provide developmentally appropriate opportunities for infants and young children in the areas of dramatic play, music and movement exploration, or visual arts expression.
