CS 180 - Computers in Action Units: 3 Introduction to computer applications and the role of computer technology in society. Introduction to word processing, spreadsheet applications, presentation software, basic database management, and website development.
Credit Restrictions: Not for computer science major or minor credit.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Apply presentation software to effectively communicate ideas and perspectives;
- Demonstrate mastery of word processing applications;
- Utilize spreadsheet applications to creatively solve data problems;
- Implement fundamental database operations to develop and maintain a data warehouse;
- Employ current internet tools and techniques to design and develop novel websites;
- Critically analyze the role of computing in society.
