Minor Requirements (26-27 units)

Required Coursework

The minor in Inclusive and Social Justice Performance is 26-27 units.  Students are required to take all of the following four (4) courses for 4 units:

• THEA 111 - Costume Techniques Units: 1
• THEA 112 - Makeup Techniques Units: 1
• THEA 113 - Stage Lighting Techniques Units: 1
• THEA 114 - Sound Production Techniques Units: 1

Dance Technique Coursework

Students choose two (2) courses from the following for 2 units:

• DANC 110 - Contemporary Ballet I Units: 1
• DANC 111 - Hip Hop Dance I Units: 1
• DANC 115 - Modern Dance I Units: 1
• DANC 116 - Dance Partnering I Units: 1

History, Theory, and Analysis Coursework

Students must take two (2) courses for 6 units from the following lists:

• DANC 102 - Diversity in Dance Units: 3
• DANC 233 - Street to Stage: History of Hip Hop Dance Units: 3
• DANC 234 - Tap and Musical Theatre Dance on Stage and Screen Units: 3 ; Breadth Area: GE-3A; Diversity
• THEA 100 - Theatre: A Spotlight on Life Units: 3
• THEA 101 - Doing The Right Thing: Social Justice Theatre Units: 3 ; Breadth Area: GE-3A; Social Justice

Performer Methods and Support Coursework
