Minor Requirements (15 units)

The minor in biostatistics is designed to provide a general background in statistics for students majoring in other areas. It is of particular value to students majoring in such disciplines as biology and health sciences. The minor in biostatistics will broaden students’ understanding of statistics with applications to biological sciences and will expand employment opportunities. The minor consists of 15 units.

Required Courses

Choose one (1) of the following pair of courses for 6 units:
STAT 303 - Statistical Methods in Biology Units: 3
And STAT 401 - Analysis of Variance for Psychology Units: 3 ; G.E./G.R. Area: D4
OR
STAT 330 - Statistical Inference Units: 3
And STAT 331 - Introduction to Analysis of Variance Units: 3
Then, take one (1) of the statistical package courses for 3 units:
STAT 311 - Data Analysis using Statistical Packages Units: 3
OR STAT 495 - Data Analysis with SAS Units: 3
Plus, take the following required course for 3 units:
STAT 432 - Introduction to Linear Regression and Logistic Regression Units: 3
