Industrial Engineering, B.S. Program (125 units) * see Errata-Program page
Program Description
Reach your full potential in the field of engineering and - realize the future you envision with an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from California State University, East Bay (CSUEB). As a graduate of CSUEB’s ABET accredited Industrial Engineering degree program you’ll be prepared for a highly rewarding professional career designing, building, and managing state-of-the-art manufacturing and service systems. Industrial Engineers serve an essential need in today’s technical society as the interface between humans and technology. Industrial engineers work to improve the quality and efficiency of the production of goods and delivery of services.
Career Opportunities
Career opportunities for industrial engineers exist in many sectors including manufacturing, services, financial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, high tech. It also involves many functions such as planning, logistics and supply chain optimization, quality, forecasting and simulation, project supervision and improvement.
Features
Relatively small class sizes, easy access to faculty for advising and academic help, good opportunities for internships.
Program Learning Outcomes
Students who graduate with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering will be able to:
- An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
- An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
- An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
- An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
- An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
- An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
