Institutions and Centers
Alameda County Collaborative for Learning and Instruction in Mathematics (ACCLAIM) is a regional initiative cosponsored by the California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) and the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE), with the cooperation of local school districts.
East Bay Science Project (EBSP), provides professional development programs for K-12 teachers and technical support services for schools and districts. Established in 1990 at the California State University East Bay (CSUEB), in partnership with the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE), to improve science education throughout the San Francisco Bay area. The partnership consists of CSUEB science faculty, pedagogical experts at ACOE, in-service and pre-service teachers, and public school administrators. The focus is to increase the quality of K-12 science teachers by increasing their science content knowledge and facilitating the sustained use of inquiry-based pedagogies.
The Biotechnology Certificate Program (BCP), is a competitive, limited enrollment program emphasizing close supervision and instruction in current theoretical and practical training in molecular life sciences. It was established in 1986 to meet the personnel requirements of the rapidly expanding Bay Area biotechnology industry.
The CSCI Student Service Center provides comprehensive major advising and support for students in the Health Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Statistics majors. Advisors assist students in thoroughly understanding their major/minor requirements, planning classes, and completing necessary paperwork. The goal is to help students as they transition into university life and develop useful skills to complete their degree.
Center for Math Education & Research (CSER), is to enhance and facilitate the teaching and learning of mathematics across all communities in the Bay Area. The Center is designed to benefit both faculty members, who are seeking opportunities for grant funding, and funders from outside granting agencies interested in participating in the improvement of mathematics education. CMER provides a centralized location that describes the work and expertise of university faculty. CMER promotes opportunities for outside entities, who are interested in getting involved in community educational improvement, to collaborate with higher education faculty in Math and Education at Cal State East Bay.
Institute for Stem Education (STEMEd), provides leadership and support to California State University, East Bay, as it fulfills its commitment to preparing the students in our diverse community for success in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics disciplines, and to helping all students acquire the STEM knowledge necessary to function as engaged and informed citizens.
