EDLD 612 - CalAPA Leadership Support Seminar


Units: 1
EDLD 612 prepares current CSU East Bay PASC students and alumni to successfully complete the CalAPA Leadership Cycles. Students work through the narrative templates at their own pace, while receiving instructor feedback and technical support on their work in progress. 

Co-requisites: EDLD 600 or EDLD 610
Credit Restrictions: Open only to current CSU East Bay PASC students and alumni.

Repeatability: Repeatable for credit up to 8 units.
Possible Instructional Methods: Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous, or Online-Synchronous.
Grading: CR/NC grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Apply the CalAPA Leadership Cycle requirements to authentic leadership problems of practice in PK-12 schools.
  2. Analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to identify focal inequities and inform leadership decisions.
  3. Engage with peer-reviewed research to select evidence-based strategies and interventions.
  4. Collaborate with a community of practice to design, implement, and reflect on leadership actions.
  5. Demonstrate proficiency in writing to CalAPA rubrics, including producing clear, complete, and reflective narrative submissions.
  6. Develop professional habits of reflection and feedback by reviewing peers’ work and integrating instructor and cohort leader guidance.
  7. Produce strong draft submissions of Leadership Cycles I-III (at least 75% complete) as evidence of progress toward credential requirements.
