PSYC 492E - Research Seminar in Social Psychology Units: 4 This seminar explores key topics in Social Psychology through critical analysis of research and discussion of contemporary issues. Students will develop skills in scientific thinking, communication, and gain a deeper understanding of Social Psychology. Topics vary by instructor.
Prerequisites: PSYC 300 & PSYC 360 Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Critically evaluate primary research literature in the seminar topic area, identifying key theoretical frameworks, methodologies, and empirical findings.
- Synthesize empirical findings to articulate current trends, debates, and gaps in the topic area of psychology.
- Apply psychological theories and concepts to real-world issues or contemporary problems related to the seminar topic.
- Communicate scholarly ideas effectively.
- Lead and contribute to informed discussions, demonstrating respectful engagement with diverse perspectives and constructive critical thinking.
- Demonstrate ethical awareness and scientific integrity in the interpretation and discussion of psychological research.
