NURS 309 - Foundations of Professional Nursing Clinical Units: 1 This clinical course provides opportunities to apply critical thinking and clinical reasoning to the care of older adults. The focus is on developing knowledge for nursing practice and demonstrating professional behaviors and attitudes.
Prerequisites: Open to nursing majors only Co-requisites: NURS Strongly Recommended Preparation: 310 Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: CR/NC grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Incorporate knowledge from nursing and other disciplines to support clinical judgement
- Demonstrate accountability for nursing actions when implementing a plan of care
- Clearly communicate the nurse’s roles, responsibilities, and scope of practice
- Apply principles of professional nursing ethics when delivering culturally sensitive care
