PSYC 202 - Exploring Graduate School in Psychology Units: 1 This course provides an overview of graduate education pathways in psychology, including programs leading to masters and doctoral degrees. Students will explore the variety of specializations in the field and examine how graduate study aligns with different career trajectories.
Prerequisites: PSYC 100 & Psychology Major Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Online-Asynchronous, or Online-Synchronous. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Differentiate between types of graduate psychology programs (MA, PhD, PsyD, etc).
- Identify career paths requiring graduate training in psychology.
- Locate and evaluate graduate programs aligned with their goals.
- Understand admission requirements and prepare application materials.
