NURS 424 - Semester 4 Simulation Units: 1 Simulation-based and related experiential learning activities designed to develop clinical judgment and essential nursing competencies highlighting critical thinking, communication and collaboration in complex situations, conducting health teaching, using information/communication technologies, and advocating for population health.
Prerequisites: NURS 410, NURS 411, NURS 416, NURS 412, NURS 413, NURS 418 Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: CR/NC grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Provide nursing care informed by a comprehensive assessment of individuals experiencing a critical condition, health decline, or at the end of life, as well as the needs of their families, communities, and surrounding environment.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional team to manage complex scenarios and support health promotion, maintenance, restoration, or palliative care across individual and population-focused settings and public health emergencies.
- Apply evidence-based strategies using health literacy tools, information and communication technologies, and social networking platforms to improve interprofessional communication and advocate for the health of individuals, groups, communities, and the environment.
