SLHS 692 - Fieldwork Experience in Speech-Language Pathology Units: 1-4 Supervised clinical fieldwork in students’ local communities with weekly online clinical rounds. Focus on assessment, intervention, documentation, professional collaboration, and cultural responsiveness.
Repeatability: Repeatable for credit up to 16 units. Possible Instructional Methods: Online-Asynchronous or Online-Synchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall, Spring, or Summer
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Demonstrate clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and intervention under supervision in a community-based fieldwork placement.
- Manage professional responsibilities, including documentation, scheduling, and communication with supervisors and stakeholders.
- Apply ethical reasoning, cultural responsiveness, and interprofessional collaboration in clinical practice.
- Develop and present a de-identified client case study, including background, assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and outcomes.
- Reflect on clinical experiences through participation in weekly clinical rounds discussions.
