FIN 681 - Advanced Real Estate Analytics

Units: 3
Advanced evaluation of real estate property types and markets. Followed by advanced analytical applications of real estate finance topics pertaining to real estate investment trusts (REITS), mortgage backed securities (MBS) pricing, and real estate portfolio analysis.

Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous, or Online-Synchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Evaluate real estate property types.
  2. Justify property market, characteristics, and data to create and analyze models.
  3. Construct, model and interpret survey data from sources such as Bureau of Census.
  4. Synthesize capitalization rate data to estimate comparable rates for subject properties in valuation of real estate.
  5. Appraise capitalization rate data for various property types. 
  6. Demonstrate advanced analytics for Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) data.
  7. Design Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS) instruments and apply data analytics.
  8. Formulate and evaluate a detailed portfolio containing real estate securities.
