ENGL 110 - College Writing: Stretch I (Online) Units: 3 First semester of a year-long course in writing for academic purposes, critical analysis, and argumentation that is offered in an online environment exclusively for students in fully online programs.
Prerequisites: Declared major in a fully online program (e.g. ANTH, SOC, HDEV, ES, HIST, PHIL, etc.) Co-requisites: ENGL 119 is required for Category IV students and encouraged for Category III students. Possible Instructional Methods: Hybrid or Online-Synchronous. Grading: ABC/NC grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Practice writing effectively in English;
- Explain the principles and rhetorical perspectives of effective writing, including its form, content, context, and style;
- Advocate for a cause or idea, presenting facts and arguments in an organized and accurate manner;
- Practice the discovery, critical evaluation, and reporting of information.
