ENGL 119 - College Writing Lab (Online) Units: 1 Writing lab for students to use feedback from faculty and peers in order to identify and address writing challenges; this course is offered in an online environment exclusively for students in fully online programs.
Prerequisites: Declared major in a fully online program (e.g. ANTH, SOC, HDEV, ES, HIST, PHIL, etc.) Co-requisites: Enrollment in ENGL 110, ENGL 111, or ENGL 112. Repeatability: Repeatable for credit up to 3 units. Possible Instructional Methods: Hybrid or Online-Synchronous. Grading: CR/NC grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Use feedback from faculty and peers to revise and edit multidraft essays;
- Identify common individual patterns of challenge that arise during the writing and reading processes;
- Identify common individual patterns of error in sentence-level grammar and mechanics;
- Develop strategies in order to revise and edit written assignments with growing autonomy.
