NURS 364 - Nursing Leadership and Innovation

This course explores the role of the nurse as a leader. Students will apply anti-racist principles to advance health equity, promote workplace safety, and effectively use information and communication technologies.

Prerequisites: NURS Majors Only: NURS 420, NURS 421, NURS 424, NURS 425, NURS 426, NURS 365W OR admission into the post-licensure program concentration.
Possible Instructional Methods: Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous or Online-Synchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Apply leadership principles to promote social justice and health equity.
  2. Advocate for healthcare practices that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  3. Analyze anti-racist approaches to support allyship in healthcare settings.
  4. Apply national patient safety innovations to work environment safety.
  5. Promote the use of information and communication technologies to improve population health.
  6. Critique health information delivered via social networking.
  7. Create a personal health and wellness self-care plan.
