SLHS 496 - Research Experience in Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences Units: 1-3 Students will acquire knowledge of research methods in speech, language, and hearing sciences and gain hands-on research experience.
Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a total of 12 units. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: ABC/NC grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Describe and apply fundamental principles of research design and methodology used in communication sciences and disorders, including qualitative and quantitative approaches.
- Critically evaluate peer-reviewed research articles in speech-language pathology to assess the validity, reliability, and clinical relevance of the findings.
- Demonstrate an understanding of ethical considerations in research, including informed consent, participant confidentiality, and responsible conduct of research.
