MLL 152 - Elementary Japanese II: Language and Arts Units: 4 ; Breadth Area: GE-3A Further develop student’s ability to speak, read and write Japanese. Deepen the knowledge of Japanese art culture, respond to aesthetic experiences in arts and demonstrate an understanding of the relationship among the self, the creative arts, and Japanese culture.
Breadth Area(s) Satisfied: GE-3A - Arts Prerequisites: MLL 151. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Spring ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: 1. Use elementary-level sentence structure and grammar rules beyond MLL 151 in writing and speech
2. Participate in elementary-level conversations by listening and responding appropriately
3. Assess social situations to determine when to use casual and polite forms
4. Write sentences using Kanji characters and identify Kanji characters in written text
5. Discuss the importance of human imagination and inquiry in Japanese language, pop culture and conversation.
