MSC 444 - Biological Oceanography

Units: 4
The ocean as an ecological system: the complexity of environmental influences on plankton; the transfer of organic matter between trophic levels; and nutrient cycles. Laboratory sessions will include methods in sampling, shipboard techniques, identification of plankton, and current analytical techniques.

Prerequisites: Department consent.
Strongly Recommended Preparation: General biology and general chemistry.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
