MLL 221 - Intermediate French I: Francophone Cultures Units: 4 ; Breadth Area: GE-3B A continuation of MLL 122 , with increased emphasis on the structure of the language, on vocabulary building and conversation, and on the appreciation of the cultures of the French-speaking world.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Students will be able to express themselves with sufficient accuracy and clarity to carry on conversations in French with native speakers and to give oral presentations appropriate to the Undergraduate level.
- Students will be able to convey critical ideas in both academic and social contexts orally and in writing.
- Students will be able to communicate with and listen to others in a respectful way.
- Students will be able to be familiar with cultural ethnic diversity from around the Francophone world, and other forms of diversity, such as gender.
- Students will acquire the necessary knowledge needed to work collaboratively in an open-minded and respectful way. through in-class/on Canvas discussions and group work
- write short compositions in French with grammatical accuracy, and vocabulary that are satisfactory for the beginning level.
