MLL 122 - Elementary French II: Language and Arts Units: 4 ; Breadth Area: GE-3A Introduction to speaking, understanding, reading, and writing French. A communicative approach to the acquisition of the language with emphasis on the appreciation of the arts. Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship among the self, the creative arts, and French culture.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Express themselves with sufficient accuracy and clarity to carry on conversations in French with native speakers and to give oral presentations appropriate to the undergraduate level.
- Appreciate the various components of French and Francophone cultural artifacts.
- Learn how to work collaboratively in an open-minded and respectful way through in-class discussions and group work.
- Write short compositions in French with grammatical accuracy, and vocabulary that are satisfactory for the beginning level.
