REC 476 - Recreation Therapy Internship Placement

Units: 1
Develop a career portfolio, including resume, cover letter, interview preparation, and personal branding information. Identify an internship site to meet all department criteria. With Internship Supervisor develop internship goals and objectives. Take one semester prior to REC 481 - Recreation Therapy Internship. 1000 hours of experience in the field of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism is recommended.

Prerequisites: Department consent.
Strongly Recommended Preparation: Completion of most REC Therapy major courses and electives.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Develop a career portfolio, including resume, cover letter, interview preparation, and personal branding information.
  2. Identify an internship site that will meet all criteria for the University and accreditation standards. Articulate their internship goals and objectives.
