THEA 100 - Theatre: A Spotlight on Life
Units: 3
Theatre as an art form and cultural influence. Creating theatre through dramatic structure and imagination. The contributions of the playwright, actor, director, and designer. The collaborative nature of theatre.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).
Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Identify the relationship between culture and theatre and why it differs from other art forms. Analyze style and structure of scripts.
- Demonstrate the collaborative process necessary to produce theatre.
- Appraise the role of sets, lights, costumes, props, sound, directing and acting in communicating a message.
