THEA 264 - Non-Western Costume

The development of Non-western clothing and costume with a historical context. Influences on world culture and theatrical design of Chinese, Japanese, other Asian, African, indigenous American, and Pacific Islander fashions.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- communicate visually and orally when making presentations of research findings.
- distinguish between primary and secondary sources in visual research.
- demonstrate sensitivity in the description and use of research findings beyond personal cultural boundaries.
- analyze the role of non-western influences on the costumes of theatrical productions.
