ENGR 215 - Computational Methods in Engineering


Units: 3
Computational algorithms used in solving engineering problems. Use of computer tools for solving a system of equations, matrix manipulations, numerical integration and differentiation, optimization, and simulation for engineering applications. Lecture Units: 2; Lab Units: 1.

Prerequisites: MATH 131.
Co-requisites: MATH 215
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Apply computational techniques to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
  2. Use computer software and tools to utilize computational methodologies learned in the class.
  3. Evaluate techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
