BAN 622 - Data Engineering and Business Intelligence

Data engineering, data warehousing and business intelligence concepts, design, implementation, and software tools. Topics include, cloud data warehouse architectures, dimensional modeling, data pipelines, business intelligence reporting, visualization and dashboards.

Prerequisites: BAN 610 or ITM 331
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Apply dimensional and NoSQL data modeling techniques to design and construct a data warehouse and data lakes.
  2. Utilize cloud computing tools to operate and manage data warehouse and data lakes.
  3. Build data pipelines and ETL scripts to automate data processing.
  4. Create reports and dashboards with business intelligence software.
