NURS 453 - Preceptorship Practicum Units: 4 This capstone practicum is a precepted experience in a clinical setting. Emphasis is on guided independence, providing care in one or more of the 4 spheres of care and enhancing clinical judgment in preparation for entering professional nursing practice.
Prerequisites: B.S. Nursing major and all of: NURS 420, NURS 421, NURS 424, NURS 425, NURS 426, NURS 365W Co-requisites: NURS 452. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: CR/NC grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Demonstrate clinical judgment, recognizing when additional knowledge and expertise is needed.
- Promote self-care management based on individual and family self-determination and decision-making.
