INFO 220 - Information Literacy Skills Units: 1 Information literacy skills with an emphasis on research in academic context. Issues and skills covered include: search strategies, information evaluation, information ethics, and use of information in research papers and presentations.
Prerequisites: Sophomore or higher standing and completion of GE Area A2. Credit Restrictions: Not open to students with credit for INFO 210.
Possible Instructional Methods: Hybrid or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Determine appropriate information sources for a specific information need.
- Effectively access appropriate information sources.
- Critically evaluate found information sources in context of specific information need.
- Effectively use information sources both in and outside the classroom.
- Understand and apply information ethics appropriately in context of situation.
