CHEM 693 - Capstone Project in Chemistry or Biochemistry Units: 2 A culminating Chemistry or Biochemistry experience where students apply graduate-level knowledge and skills to complete a faculty-supervised project. Projects must show originality and independent thinking, with outcomes communicated in a written report and, if required, an oral defense.
Prerequisites: Department consent. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Critically evaluate scientific literature in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
- Apply creative problem-solving skills to design and complete an advanced project in the field of Chemistry or Biochemistry.
- Integrate specialized knowledge and methods from Chemistry or Biochemistry to address a defined problem.
- Effectively communicate project outcomes through a well-structured written report and, when required, an oral presentation.
