NURS 329 - Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Clinical Units: 2 This clinical course provides opportunities to assess the mental health of clients, develop client-centered plans of care, and implement and evaluate nursing interventions across the continuum of care. Emphasis is on the development of a therapeutic nurse-client relationship.
Prerequisites: NURS 310, NURS 309, NURS 312, NURS 307, NURS 308, NURS 316, NURS 318. Co-requisites: NURS 314. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: CR/NC grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Establish therapeutic, caring, client-centered relationships
- Conduct and document holistic mental status assessments
- Formulate client-centered plans of care that include restoration of mental health and self-management of chronic health conditions
- Implement and evaluate evidence-based, therapeutic nursing interventions
