NURS 323 - Nursing Care of Adults I Clinical Units: 2 This course provides opportunities to collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team in the safe and compassionate delivery of evidence-based care of adults across acute and chronic illness conditions.
Prerequisites: NURS 310, NURS 309, NURS 312, NURS 307, NURS 308, NURS 316, NURS 318 Co-requisites: NURS 320. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: CR/NC grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Design and deliver nursing care to restore and maintain health, taking into account safety and physiologic, psycho-emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual needs
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care
- Propose a system change to improve access, quality, costs, and/or outcomes of care
- Demonstrate accountability for nursing care
- Apply communication and collaboration skills in the development of partnerships with patients, families, and interprofessional team members
- Demonstrate professional behaviors consistent with the American Nurses’ Association Code of Ethics
