KIN 304 - Motor Development


Units: 3
Theoretical perspectives on motor development research. Relevant social, physical, and cognitive influences on human movement across the lifespan. Practical applications to kinesiology careers.

Prerequisites: BIOL 270, C- or better. 
Co-requisites: BIOL 271.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.

  2. Discuss the importance of motor development.
  3. Critically analyze theories of motor development.
  4. Classify, assess, and analyze motor behavior.
  5. Describe changes in perception and action across the lifespan.
  6. Identify how organismic constraints shape motor development.
  7. Identify how socio-cultural constraints shape motor development
